This past weekend, Bret and I decided to take the Friday off of work and have a wonderful long weekend in Stowe, Vermont. While we were there, we had some really memorable meals, including a satisfying late lunch at Jaime's on Main and a wonderful three-course tasting menu at Michael's on the Hill. I was too caught up in the moment and didn't photograph either of those meals. I did, however, remember to take some photos of dinner Friday night at Harrison's Restaurant.
After grabbing a pre-dinner cocktail (or two) at the Whip Bar and Grill, Bret and I were both famished for our 8:30 PM dinner reservation. The restaurant was incredibly cozy with a roaring fireplace and intimate tables and booths.
I was ready to celebrate a weekend of relaxation, so I started out with a glass of bubbly.
Bret and I perused the menu and decided to split an appetizer of fried calamari. While I adored the fried banana peppers, the calamari weren't really crispy and seemed almost soggy. I was definitely a little disappointed.
Our entrees, however, were a lot better. We both ordered the house cheese burger with fries. I ordered mine medium and Bret ordered his medium-rare. Mine came as medium-rare and Bret's was a bit more medium. Bret said he didn't mind his burger being a little over-cooked though because the beef was still so juicy and flavorful.
The fries were pretty crispy and nicely not heavily salted. The coleslaw, however, lacked definite seasoning and needed a heavier hand with the salt!
Our dinner was really simple but it definitely left us feeling content and satiated.
Harrison's Restaurant is located at 25 Main Street, Stowe, Vermont.
