Lunch Date: Scollay Square

Yesterday, I met my pal Abby for lunch at Scollay Square.  Abby and I try to meet up for lunch at least once a month so that we can catch up on each other's lives.  Plus, it gives us an excuse to both splurge a little on lunch and an opportunity to explore and find some great sit-down lunch spots near our offices.

We arrived around 12:30 PM and got a table out on the patio.  It wasn't too sunny out but we were both freezing from our respective offices and thought that the warm summer air would be refreshing.  I've only been to Scollay Square a few times - once for brunch and once for dinner - so I wasn't too familiar with the menu.  Abby urged me to try their Greek salad, which she said was outstanding.

When my salad arrived, I knew that it was going to be great.  I could smell the rosemary and oregano from the grilled chicken breast (which I added to my salad) and the grape tomatoes looked so juicy!

In addition to the grilled chicken, the salad was topped with peeled and seedless sliced cucumbers, yellow and red grape tomatoes, feta cheese, Kalamata olives and sliced pepperocini.  The oregano dressing was creamy but didn't really carry the oregano flavor.  Still, I'd have to say this was one of the best Greek salads I've had in awhile.  Abby equally enjoyed her grilled pear salad, which she dug into before I could snap a photo!

The service was nice and efficient.  They are definitely used to the lunch crowd and we finished our lunch in under an hour without ever feeling rushed.  The salads were definitely a little pricey ($15.50 for the Greek salad with the grilled chicken) but it was worth it to enjoy the warm weather and catch up with a good friend.

This summer has been especially busy for me with a crazy work schedule and lots of travelling.  I think that a lot of my friends are feeling the same.  This leads me to ask - How do you make or find time to catch up with your friends?
