Last Thursday was another gorgeous evening in Boston and I happily soaked up the sunshine as I strolled to the North End for dinner. I was meeting friends for dinner at 6 PM but we all got to the neighborhood a bit early and indulged in a glass of wine on the roof deck of
Ristorante Fiore. By the time we got to
Ristorante Damiano, we were all famished!
Ristorante Damiano is a piattini and offers Italian small plates. I love sharing small plates amongst friends and we ordered a few different dishes.

A crisp glass of white wine is always welcome! |
The beautiful roasted beets were hidden under the bed of arugula in this roasted beet salad. |
I can never resist a bowl of mussels sauteed ina white wine sauce! |
The lamb lollipops were dipped in a crunchy pistachio crust. |
My favorite dish of the evening was a plate of Japanese fried eggplant in a red sauce. |
I also adored the sauteed spinach and garlic sauce in the garlic shrimp. |
The braised wild mushrooms and roasted tomatoes were simple but delightfully delicious. |
This was a hearty dish of spaghetti carbonara and very peppery! |
We were surprised at how large the small plates were and found that we ordered less dishes to share amongst five people than we expected. I guess this just means that I'll have to go back another time to try out some of the other menu items!
Ristorante Damiano doesn't offer coffee or desserts. We thought about getting gelato but decided to end the evening with a few cocktails at
Bacco instead.
Ristorante Damiano is located at 307-309 Hanover Street, Boston, MA in the North End.
