The Smorgie Cocktail created by the hotel's mixologist hours earlier is a sweet and refreshing blend of Chartreuse, Simple Syrup, Lemon, Pineapple and Basil.
The Smorgie website is a new tool for restaurant networking. Creating a profile gives you the ability to make lists and keep track of restaurants you've been to. Users can "Smorganize" or customize these lists, called Bite Books, using any category of their choosing, for example "Favorite Dinners" or "Best Brunch". Users can also create a list of places they haven't yet visited but would like to. From the girl who used to organize her Boston restaurants on an excel spreadsheet for fun (pre blog days), and who constantly has a running list in her head of places she wants to eat, this website was right up my alley! Not unlike Yelp or Foodbuzz - Smorgie also lets users “friend” each other. Friending another user allows you to see their restaurant recommendations and personalized lists.
Can you tell I loved photographing this cocktail?! I liked drinking it even more. While learning about what Smorgie had to offer we also munched on appetizers from Market.
We were served Edamame pilled with salt and some spicy peppery zestings.
I definitley enjoyed the uniquely seasoned version of this favorite soybean appetizer.
The Mozarella & Tomato Pizza was fairly standard.
Battered and fried, these warm spinach and cheese balls were a gooey greasy bite of comfort.
The sophisticated lounge looks out over bustling Stuart and Tremont Streets through dramatic gray curtains. The plush couches lined with rows of pillows, modern chairs and sleek furniture provide a relaxing atmosphere to linger over cocktails and appetizers. Thanks to Shakti for inviting me to the event and introducing me to this fun new tool I can use to organize my restaurants!
Smorgie is still new to me and in its infant stages, so I am looking forward to navigating the site and discovering additional functions and features as the product expands.
P.S. Megan might or might not have persuaded me to pop into Market for dinner. Not that I required much persuading. After an excellent brunch there back in May, I was happy to oblige and try out the dinner menu. Review to follow....
