Bloody Marys by Rocko's Gourmet

If you haven't noticed, I am a huge Bloody Mary fan (note the profile picture, page right.) I have fifteen posts on this blog tagged with the label "Bloody Mary". Fifteen. Lets make that sixteen counting today's made with a fabulous new product called Rocko's Bloody Seasoning Blend. The folks at Rocko's Gourmet a local company based out of Ashland, MA generously provided this product for my Bloody Mary indulging pleasure. The company was launched in November 2010 with the inaugural batch, a unique blend of over 20 ingredients and spices including horseradish, cayenne pepper, white peppers and lemon. Let me tell you, when combined with your favorite vodka and tomato juice, this makes one heck of a classic breakfast cocktail. Today I added all the fixins to mine:
First, I filled my cup with ice and added in the desired amount of Svedka Vodka. Svedka is the highest quality "inexpensive" vodka out there, in my opinion. Comparable to Smirnoff but I enjoy the taste of Svedka better and it is generally a couple dollars cheaper. Absolut is great if I'm looking to splurge about $5 or so more. Next, I matched the amount of vodka with Rocko's Blend. (Eyeballed it.)And then came the tomato juice. I'm not really sure why I chose Campbell's. V8, Clamato, whatever tomato juice brand you prefer will work just fine.Once I stirred the ingredients (to lazy to get out my shaker, but stirring vigorously worked just as well) I garnished appropriately with celery stalks, olives, a lemon wedge and a lime wedge. I prefer my Bloody Mary bold and spicy, so I definitely topped her off with a little more Rocko's. If you prefer a mild Bloody Mary you could still use this seasoning but simply add less of it to your drink! Rocko's is all about bringing the flavor and in that respect it can appeal to a variety of heat tolerance levels. Their seasoning blend achieves a serious zing factor unlike any other. My favorite breakfast cocktail will never be the same!!Check out the Where to Purchase list on their website if you are interested in whipping up the tastiest Bloody Mary's this state has to offer. In addition, Rocko's can be used to add a kick to your favorite culinary dishes. It would add some bold flavors to a marinade for chicken, shrimp or steak, or perhaps it would fare well as an ingredient in chili, dips or dressings. Endless possibilities. So even if your palate can't grasp why on earth a tomato based vodka drink is tasty, it can totally still enjoy Rocko's Seasoning Blend in other aspects of the culinary realm.
"Life is to short to consume bland, boring food and drink" ~Rocko
