Batch of Love

As I blogged about yesterday, this week has been really long for me and a bit stressful.  I had a long overdue date with one of friends to celebrate her recent engagement and by the time I got home, it was late and I was exhausted.  As I changed into my pajamas, Bret told me that he had a present waiting for me in the freezer.

I opened the freezer to find this:

Seriously, isn't he the best?  Underneath the note, I found this:

Batch Ice Cream is a local, organic and fair-trade company that makes some fabulous ice cream.  Well actually, I heard that they made fabulous ice cream.  You see, I have been having a hard time finding it in my neighborhood.  But on Tuesday, Savenor's announced that they were now carrying Batch in their Beacon Hill store, which is right across the street from me.

I've been dying to try their Salted Caramel flavor and Bret picked up a pint for us after work last night.

It was so rich, creamy and had a nice saltiness to it.  The caramel reminded me a little of burnt sugar, which in my book is a good thing.  More importantly, the ice cream and the gesture behind it totally made a long day end on a happy note.

Tell me, what is the one thing that can turn a bad day turn into a good one?
