Project Food Blog Re-cap

So after three rounds, I was eliminated from Foodbuzz's Project Food Blog.


It has been a fantastic experience in really challenging myself.  Our first entry really forced me to sit down and write about why I blog and explain the lengthy title of my blog name!  As I've shared previously, I've been having some struggles recently with the vision, voice and direction of my blog.  I think writing this blog post was really instrumental in helping me find my focus again.  Project Food Blog has been great because I've also had the opportunity to write about things that I normally wouldn't on my blog.  And this contest has definitely introduced me to so many different food writers that I didn't know existed!

But to be honest, I also struggled to find the time to give to this contest.  Although we know about the challenges ahead of time, we only really have a little more than 48 hours after we learn of our advancement to complete, write and post your blog entry.  While some of the blog posts can be done ahead of time, I had trouble convincing myself to spend the time and the money to throw a luxury dinner party just in the hopes of advancing...so I waited until the weekend that I discovered that I had advanced, which was pretty stressful.

Despite the mixed feelings, all in all, I'm glad that I chose to participate in Project Food Blog and I am excited that I advanced as far as I did.  In fact, we started out with over a thousand bloggers and I made it down to the final two hundred, which is something that I'm really proud of.  If you haven't already, please check out my entries for each round:
