On Tuesday night, I had the opportunity to attend the Pie in the Sky Kick-Off Party. Jen from Beantown Baker had been invited and asked if I'd like to come along... I didn't know much about the event, but I knew it had something to do with baking and charity, so I was in.
We met up and headed to Rocca after work to check out the event.
While we waited to find out what Pie in the Sky was all about, we sipped Burnt Orange & Cranberry Pie cocktails from adorable Mason jars.

So what is Pie in the Sky?
Pie in the Sky is Community Servings' annual Thanksgiving bake sale. Boston-area restaurants and bakeries donate thousands and thousands of pies to make this bake sale possible. When you buy a Pie in the Sky pie to share at your Thanksgiving table, you'll also support a good cause. For $25 you can buy one of these pies for your Thanksgiving dinner and also provide a week's worth of meals for a Community Servings client. Community Servings delivers 750 nutritious meals a day to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. (Community Servings does so much more than that too. Read more about it here.)
Want to buy a pie?
To order pies for your Thanksgiving dinner, please head to my seller page. Choose from apple, pecan, pumpkin, and sweet potato pies. The pies will be available for pick-up the day before Thanksgiving at sites all over the greater Boston area. On my seller page, you can select what kind of pie you want and where you want to pick it up.
In addition to the $25 pies, there are also special raffle pies for $75. If you purchase one of these, besides a gift-wrapped apple pie, you'll also get the chance to win one of ten prizes, including a night at Hotel Veritas in Cambridge, a Boston sports package, a time share, and so much more!
You can even buy a pie for a Community Servings' client or simply make a donation.
Pie in the Sky's goal this year is $450,000, which translates to 96,000 meals for Community Servings clients and their families! Let's help them reach that goal!
