World Travel & BCAE Writing Classes

We interrupt this regularly scheduled blogging to update the masses with exciting happenings!

1) Tricia (one of my dearest friends, we met Freshman year of college at The University of New Hampshire) has started a Travel Blog: Not All Who Wander Are Lost. This past month she documented her travels to Las Vegas, Nevada and Sydney, Australia. Want tips on the best way to book a hotel or a show in Sin City? A review of Beatles Cirque Du Soliel at Mirage or Holly Madison Peep Show at Planet Hollywood? Tricia has the inside scoop! Ever dream about traveling to Australia? Check out the sights of Darling Harbour and Manly Beach, and learn about what there is to do in Sydney. Over the years Tricia's job has taken her to Madrid, Shanghai and Copenhagen just to name a few international cities. Along the way she has not forgotten her friends back at home. I decided to share a few of the gifts she purchased for me over seas:
Bottle opener with Madrid logo
Bracelet from ShanghaiBooze filled Chocolates from CopenhagenWhich are tasty and quite fun to take shots of as my guests this past Saturday evening learned. We made large dent in these chocolates during pregame antics. (Yes we were celebrating 27th birthdays and yes, we still pregame.)

Anyways, check out Tricia's blog if you have a moment, I know she'd really appreciate you stopping by!

2) Local Residents: Shannon Igoe from Image Unlimited Communications recently contacted me, inviting me to attend some writing classes at the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE). These classes present fantastic opportunities - one with Erica Corsano the editorial director of STUFF Magazine and the other with Brittany Jasnoff managing editor of Boston Magazine. Unfortunately, I will be out of town on the dates they are offered. I wanted to extend the opportunity to my readers all same. The basics are as follows:I know some locals who have great fashion blogs, or at least incorporate personal style into various blog posts, so I thought it worthwhile to share. Even though I don't write about fashion, I still find it interesting and would consider checking this class out if I were going to be around. I am a fan of Erica Corsano's work and STUFF Magazine. Shannon also let me know that Erica will publish one lucky students work in an upcoming issue! This next class will offer students the inside scoop on what it is like to work at a magazine, as well as provide tips and tactics to land a writing gig. This class also includes the opportunity to become Boston Magazines newest intern. Let me know if you are interested in either class and I can provide further details as requested!

We now return to regularly scheduled blogging (A mouth watering meal from a neighborhood restaurant and a recap of the Red White Boston Launch Event in the near future!)
