Power Hour at Morton's Back Bay

Once a month I have a Junior League Events Committee meeting.  Generally each meeting's theme is based around the different aspects that go into planning an event.  This past month, we went to Morton's Back Bay to discuss the events they do as a company as well as events you can hold in their space.  I had never been to any Morton's before, so I was not really sure what to expect.  Turns out, Morton's has a Power Hour Menu: a bar menu with really well priced food and drink, offered all day long!

Red Wine
During Power Hour, beers are $5, certain wines are $6.50 and some martini's are $7.50.  Morton's is generally known as being on the pricier side, so I was super surprised at how cheap the drinks were.  Even better, it was not the cheap stuff - my glass of wine was delicious!  During the summer, Morton's had a spa martini was was low in calories, but since it's no longer summer they switched modes.  We were lucky enough to sample the sparkling cinnamon apple cocktail with Prosecco, Lindemans Pomme Lambic (green apple), Monin Honey Syrup and some whipped cream, all topped off with a cinnamon and sugar ring. I was a little worried about a creamy cocktail, but this was delicious!  I would highly recommend this on a nice cold evening.

While there are a number of food options (a lot healthier than what you will see here) us girls decided to enjoy some good stuff!  Most ordered one of the following dishes.  The first is the four petite filet mignon sandwiches.  These sandwiches were delicious!  The prime beef was cooked perfectly on these sandwiches, and for $7 this was a full meal.

A bunch of us decided to share the blue cheese steak fries.  The fries were well seasoned, and though not a fully balanced meal, could really have been enough for dinner.  At only $6, not a huge hit on the wallet.

Of course, I decided to go with the three prime cheeseburgers (aka, sliders).  Once again, the burgers were cooked to medium rare perfection.  The portion was rather large, especially for $7, and each little slider was packed full of flavor.  Each component of the burger was sized perfectly for the smaller proportion of the burger.

Sliders!
As you may have noticed, I was happy with all the food and drink that the girls had.  However, I was totally wowed by the prices!  If you are looking for a good happy hour spot or some good food for pretty cheap, I would highly recommend heading down to Morton's.  The Back Bay location offers the power hour menu all day and night in the bar.  At the Seaport location, the menu is still offered, but only between 4:30-6:30 and then again from 9:00pm to close.
