Gigi Gelateria

When a rainy week presents itself, I yearn for warm sunny days to linger outside with an overflowing cup of gelato....
Last week, I ordered my first of the season, keeping it simple with a vanilla chocolate combo. The nice folks at Gigi Gelateria allow you to mix it up and try two flavors at once. (Side note, please, please, please click on that link and listen to the website song. Adam and I are not sure what to think about that, besides the fact that it's kind of hilarious.) I love to get espresso and vanilla, or coconut and pineapple, or tiramisu on its own. Basically, I'm always trying a new flavor or combo. A Frank DePasquale venture, Gigi Gelateria includes the main shop at 272 Hanover Street and a tiny counter outpost at 64 Cross Street, also known as "The Gateway to the North End". The main shop is open from 10am to Midnight everyday serving some 50 flavors of gelato, as well as cappuccino, espresso and cordials. I'm not sure the hours of the tiny counter location, but they serve a scaled down selection of gelato flavors and cold bottled beverages to-go. That is where I happened to purchase mine that lovely afternoon before I strolled up to picturesque North Square and relaxed while having a photo shoot.
You know the deal.
Trees and flowers happily showing up for springtime in the city.
And me photographing random neighborhood sights.
If you find yourself wandering the streets of the North End on a warm spring or hot summer afternoon, satisfy your inner gelato craving at Gigi Gelateria!!
